About This Workshop
*** As this is a lunchtime workshop we’ll start at 12:30 sharp, finish the talk at 1:30 with some light snacks after for those that can stay ***
You didn’t found a startup to do accounting, right?
Nevertheless you’re a business owner as well as a startup founder and as accounting is still the language of business, it’s good for you to know some of the core business accounting principles and terminology and tax basics.
So while you may not want to use what you learn to impress your friends at drinks, this workshop will explain in Standard Ledger’s typical easy-to-understand enough of what you need to know as business owner and so you don’t look dumb in front of investors.
Specifically we’ll run through the core financial statements, and how they are used and interrelate, terminology like Assets and Liabilities and cash and accrual and an awareness of key obligations around being an employer, and with the ATO and ASIC. We promise we won’t talk about debits and credits!
